Dr Lou grew up in Woodend and Sunbury & spent most of her childhood riding ponies at Shirley Park Thoroughbred Stud here in Woodend, which her grandfather managed. This exposure to farm life lead Lou to be passionate about becoming a vet from a young age & she graduated top of her class from Melbourne University School of Veterinary Science in 1998.
Lou initially worked in mixed equine practices both in this district and in Scotland, then settled into being a small animal vet once she started her family in 2004. Small animal medicine & preventative care have been her focus since then and we welcomed Lou to our team here at Woodend Vet Centre in May 2021.
Lou now balances life as a vet and raising her 3 children with her husband in Riddells Creek. She has ponies, chickens, a duck and her beloved dogs, Greyhound and Italian Greyhound Syd & Pete.
