In the last ten years, Woodend Veterinary Centre has moved premises, changed names and changed owners. One of the few things that has remained constant is our nurse Rhea! Rhea Maloney started working at what was then called Tony’s Practice as a kennel hand in 2008. A year later a vacancy opened up and Rhea took on a new role as a nurse. She completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing a few years later and stuck with the practice as we moved to our new location on Brooke St and management changed hands. Some of Rhea’s most memorable moments are the equine surgeries at the old facility, in particular, a surgery to remove a horse’s eye! Rhea recently celebrated her decade at the clinic with some well-earned leave, which she spent with her menagerie at her farm.
